I would rate this book a 9 out of ten jellybeans because I thought it was very compelling and some of the plot twists were unexpected. This book is about a country ruled by Silvers, who are people with silver blood (literally), some of which have powers such as telekinesis, wielding fire, metal, and many different elements. The Silvers rule the Reds, people who have red blood and don't have any powers.

Meet Mare Barrow, a Red who is trying to avoid conscription in the army because she doesn't have a job, and instead resorts to thievery in order to provide for her family. Her mother is a housewife and her father was in the army but left with PTSD. She has 3 brothers who are in the army and one sister who provides for the family by helping a seamstress.
