4 Sci-Fi Books on the Movie Hit List

This Monday I was browsing through books I was reading and happened upon movies of these books. Thought I'd share to keep you posted on how hyped I am for film adaptations being made under our very noses.
FIRST MOVIE: Ready Player One
This book, while some may say is young adult, is more of an adult book that young adult readers are devouring as we type/read. Not a lot is known about the status of this movie other than Steven Spielberg will probably (hopefully) be directing it, and the same scriptwriter as the Avengers, Zak Penn. However, there's a huge problem with the many references to pop culture if the movie will stay true to the book.. If you haven't read the book and love video games, get cracking. It's quite the story.
SECOND MOVIE: Red Rising
You have GOT to read this book. It won the author debut award in the Goodreads awards of 2014, the second book in the trilogy is out, and my goodness, it is absolutely gripping. The movie is supposedly going to be directed by that of World War Z, Marc Forester (this is not Game of Thrones. I repeat, this is not Game of Thrones because that has two "r"s). Book fans should be scared, however, because it's possible that, like World War Z, the book and movie will have nothing alike.
THIRD MOVIE: The Testing
This one's a little confusing. The books were great! There's a bazillion positive reviews on the trilogy, and if you're a dystopian fan you'll definitely enjoy. Then Paramount studios were like, "Yay, a dystopian trilogy with a giant group of fangirls/fanboys? We like!" and bought the rights. Downside: there's been nothing going on as to what state the movie is in for nearly two years. There's no director, script-writer, music writer, nada. So, that bombed pretty fast.
FOURTH MOVIE: The Martian
Now here's a good, happy film adaptation story. The book the Martian is about this man who gets stranded on Mars after a terrible storm and being impaled by a satellite rod. Things don't go too hot for him, and while that gets all messed up, people on Earth are completely oblivious of his survival. The movie is set to be released this November. I know! I had absolutely no idea! The cast appears to include Matt Damon to play Mark Watney and Sean Bean (YAY) as Lewis. Let's hope he dies. Again.
That about sums up my experiences while browsing the interwebs. I'm sorry I only included sci-fi movies. Guess that's what was on my mind today. Oh weeelll.
